Post anything video game related whether it is about the gaming industry in general, trends in gaming, games you like (or hate) and so on.

When discussing please keep this in mind though: No bashing consoles or gaming devices you dislike for the sake of stopping discussion of them. Debates are fine but no biased hatred putting other posts down because you don't like what they play on.

I'll start with some questions if you happen to not have any idea what to talk about :cheer:

What are some of your favorite games?
What are some of your favorite genres in games (like racing, rpg, fps, action/adventure games)
What games are you looking forward to?
How do you feel about the way the gaming industry is now in terms of quality of games / vs the consumers that buy them?
Do games suffer too much when they try to cater to everyone instead of their hardcore fanbase?
How important / an impact does gaming have in your life? Is it just some free time thing? a hobby? or more?

1. Assassin's Creed, NR03, iRacing, COD.
2. FPS, Action Games, Racing.
3. Assassin's Creed IV.
4. As a PC gamer, I feel like developers put enough effort into the PC ports of the games. They seem more focused on pleasing the console masses.
5. In a way, yes. Games like Call of Duty seemed to have softened up the game for new comers to make it more appealing.
6. It's a hobby for me. I love hopping on anything gaming related. When I have time of course. Sadly, I won't be able to do much gaming this year since I leave for Army Basic Training in June.
Dale Jr., Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, and Darrell Wallace Jr. fan.

1. NR03, Europa Universalis 3, Minecraft, Terraria, Team Fortress 2
2. Strategy (Real time, turn based, anything), Racing, Management/Tycoon/Sim
3. Europa Universalis 4, AGE OF EMPIRES 2 HD
4. I feel like the overall price and budget of games have inflated way too much. I don't want to pay $70 for a new video game. Overall quality is good, but I have concerns over DRM and prices.
5. YES! ABSOLUTELY! The new SimCity game was raped by its stupid DRM, and the fact that its an awful game to begin with. But I feel like most of it was caused because they tried to change their focus to make it a easy, social game.
6. Its definitely a hobby, maybe more. Its one of the ways I spend my free time, and they are just great. I've met a lot of great people through video games as well

I'm a GTA fanboy. I've loved the series since the originals so I'm certainly anxiously waiting for V. But overall I get a kick out of how fun Minecraft can be and how much fun I have in BF2 still. Never cared for how EA took out skimishes against bots in single player. And I would have loved a new SimCity, but after reading how they screwed that up, I'll stick to SimCity 4. NR2003... I don't even play it really anymore. I miss the days when accuracy meant very little to me and I could just enjoy it and appreciate what I have. Dunno what changed in me over the years though but it sucks. Made some enemies, but yet a ton of friends. That I am thankful for.

1. Forza 4, GTA 4, Saints Row The Third, Sleeping Dogs, NTG
2. Racing, sports, Action-adventure (Sandbox)
3. GTA 5, Forza 5 (Though details have been quite minimal so far)
4. I think it just depends on the company. Some companies are ultra focused on the cash end and not so much on the quality. My biggest issue is how DLC oriented the industry has become. I love FM4 to death but there are a lot of cars that are DLC. I've pretty much just bought the ones I felt I needed to remain competitive but there are some hidden gems out there that you wouldn't discover without buying an entire car pack (Like the transit van. It's amazing.) and there are too many cars that are "pack only". EA make their titles come with online passes and if you buy it used it's shell out 10 bucks for something that you only have use of for 2 years at the most.
5. I don't know. I mean the codemasters F1 series for example is pretty hardcore for a console title and it primarily caters to their base but it's a solid game. I think it depends on the game really.
6. It's kind of a hobby I guess. I don't really consider myself a serious gamer. I play a lot online but I'm not competing in tournaments or anything and I'm not someone that goes out and buys a game then plays through the entire thing in one night. I do like playing with my friends online whether it be racing or GTA or whatever so I guess I'd call it a minor hobby.

I've heard a lot of people say they liked Forza 4 a lot. Glad that it's received overall positive reviews. I will never really be able to get an unbiased opinion on it let alone play that game much even though I have 2 copies of it, one that is still unopened lol. In Forza 3 I used to paint a ton of vinyls for the storefront and then transferred them over to Forza 4. I wonder how much money I've got waiting, I'll probably never know lol

and yeah dlc for games when it's overboard is really dumb. Online passes especially even when I'm buying my games new is just irritating. I feel like I am having to arm a nuke with all the pre-order / dlc codes for games these days. There is a difference between a free to play that has micro-transactions and then their games you pay $60 and then even more just to play the game at a somewhat enjoyable level.

but what really drives me up a wall are games like Halo that used to cater to a hardcore audience but still allowed for causal fun and is now a game made for casuals that has no hardcore aspect left. Call of Duty has even become more meh than it was. Playing Cod4 you see a very large distinction in pace of game and balanced killstreaks to the now on crack game it's become. Less and less games these days are about skill or tactical teamwork and more random instant spawning crap of boredom and frustration.

Thank goodness Mass Effect 3 multiplayer has teamwork and level of skill difficulty. The one multiplayer game I can say with confidence has given me a good years worth of fun and is still continuing to do so.

I personally prefer horror games more than the others. Typically because the lower budget horror games can still be good if the creators put the time and effort into it.
I'm professionally awesome.

I think the great thing about it for me is when you want to do some serious hardcore racing it's there. When you want to kind of mess around you have that ability too with the car selection. You have the perfect mix of legitimate racing vehicles with everyday street vehicles for the serious racing. Then there's the plenty to goof around in. There's small rinky dink cars. Racing smart cars is hilarious. The Transit Van I mentioned earlier likes to flip quite easily. You get in a lobby with some buddies beat and bang and you can roll an entire field over in one those. And then hell there's the car soccer and tag lobbies.

I'd say its biggest downsides for me are track selection and public racing lobbies. Don't get me wrong the track selection isn't bad but I feel like there could be more. In all honesty though I think we'll always want more tracks in racing games lol. The public lobbies can be problematic because of the people who get on there specifically to wreck you and have no intention of actually racing. You can boot them after the race, but the problem is by that point the damage is usually done by that point. That's why I stick to the club I'm in. Granted we wreck on our own but most of the time it's incidental stuff.

Anyway sorry for the mini Forza review. Just kinda happened lol.
Just some examples from our club.
Legit hard racing that just got a little hairy:

And there's us messing around in the transit vans I mentioned earlier in some less than mature paint schemes lol:

We do legitimate Road Courses too not just ovals. It just so happens that my clips involve ovals (And Le Mans). The founder of the club Shift, has a lot more videos.
